* Feline Perspective: My fellow felines, have you ever encountered these flat, rectangular objects that humans call “books”? They are quite intriguing, are they not? The texture of the paper, the scent of the ink, the satisfying crinkling sound when we bat at the pages—it is a sensory delight! And of course, they provide excellent hiding spots for our paws, and a perfect surface for a good scratch. Humans are always staring at them, so they must be important. Perhaps they are filled with secrets? For example, my human will leave a book on the table. I have deduced that they are either trying to lure me into a trap, or they are trying to share their knowledge with me.

* Human Explanation: Dear humans, cats are naturally curious creatures, and books offer a variety of sensory stimuli. The paper’s texture and the ink’s scent can be intriguing. Cats also enjoy the crinkling sound of turning pages and the tactile experience of batting at them. Books can also provide a convenient scratching surface, and a place to hide. Finally, if you are paying attention to a book, you are not paying attention to your cat.
